This large White Pine tree died and fell in a watery swamp and was left for decades prior to processing. The water soaking and mold rotted all the sapwood leaving only the heartwood. The numerous large holes were created by insect growth. This is the top cut or skin of the trunk. The grain is striated longitudinally with a large knot on the top. The wood is completely sealed due to the very soft texture of the underlying wood. Candle cups have been strategically placed. This very special piece can be used as a table, accent of mantle piece.
