Fall Colours in Muskoka

Visiting Muskoka during the Fall months is a unique experience. The region is one of the best destinations to experience the orange and red tones. And when we say "experience," we mean it! With so many things to do, there's more to Muskoka than just "seeing" the colours.

  1. Seeing Fall colours

If we're being honest, there's no secret to seeing fall colours in Muskoka. There's magic in every corner, and you're sure to be amazed wherever you look. If you ask, Muskokans may just suggest driving around with no particular destination. So if you want to see the colour change, just hop on a vehicle and… drive!

  1. Experiencing Fall colours

As mentioned, there's so much more to do than just seeing the colours. You can actually experience them. Here are our suggestions:

Visit the Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery, where you'll find orange leaves by the cranberry fields. They offer daily guided tours, hiking trails, wagon and helicopter rides, wine tasting and more. You can also see the trees from above from one of Muskoka's many lookout points. The Lions Lookout is located in Huntsville and offers beautiful lake and city views at the end of the trail. The Huckleberry Rock Lookout is a Muskoka classic and is considered by many one of the best spots to watch the sun go down. The Track & Tower Trail offers not only beautiful views of Cache Lake but also a look into Algonquin's history, where you can walk on abandoned railway tracks and visit historic sights.

Hop on one of Muskoka's six fall cruise ships to experience the stunning colours from the water. If you're in Gravenhurst, visit Muskoka Steamships. In Port Carling, visit Sunset Cruises, or if you're in Parry Sound, there's Island Queen Cruise.

If you're looking for something more adventurous, you can take a morning ride on a Canoe or Kayak. In Muskoka, you can find multiple companies offering rentals. This is an amazing option if you want to see the golden sunrays touch the orange leaves in the early morning. In Bracebridge, look for Liv Outside. In Huntsville, you'll find Algonquin Outfitters.

Did you know you can go through Muskoka's beautiful landscape on a horse or wagon? Back of Beyond Equine Center offers private rides for all ages, including a smaller and more intimate wagon for lovebirds.
